Pre-Health Advising is dedicated to empowering students with comprehensive support and resources they need to excel in the competitive landscape of graduate school admissions. While Pre-Health Advising prides itself on guiding students on any pre-health track, this page specifically outlines outcomes for our most applied to programs: Allopathic Medical programs (MD), dental programs, and Osteopathic Medical programs (DO).
Pre-health admissions outcomes are based on the holistic preparation of an applicant. Besides academic accomplishment (GPA) and entrance exam scores, admissions committees look at state residency, holistic development areas (community service, clinical experiences, research), school fit of a candidate, and application timing.
Allopathic Medicine programs train students in diagnosing and treating illnesses and disorders, and in providing preventive care. Allopathic Medicine takes an approach based in biology toward diagnosing illnesses and treating injuries. Graduates of Allopathic Medicine Programs receive an MD and can choose to practice in many different specialties and pursue a career in teaching or research.

Dentistry programs train students in the science dealing with the prevention and treatment of oral health. Graduates of these programs receive a DMD or DDS degree. Additional training in dentistry allows specialization in fields such as Endodontics, Periodontics, Orthodontics, and many more.

Graduates of Osteopathic Medicine Programs receive an DO and can choose to practice in many different specialties and pursue a career in teaching or research.
